Privacy Policy, Indeed Date Reveal

Indeed Date Reveal ("the extension") is a browser extension that displays the original posting date, and the number of interested applicants, for job listings on Indeed. It also lets you save jobs, track your applications, follow or block employers, and filter out postings you do not want to see.

Data we collect

Nothing at all. The extension does not collect, store on our servers, sell, or transmit your browsing history, your job-search activity, or any personal data. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no cookies, and no tracking of any kind.

Versions 1.0.6 to 1.0.8 offered an optional paid subscription, which required an email address on our payment provider's page. That subscription was removed in version 1.0.9, along with the payment provider and the permission it needed. Nothing is collected any more, from anyone.

How it works

The extension reads information that is already present on the Indeed page you are viewing (such as the hidden posting-date timestamp and the applicant-interest count) and displays it as a small badge on the page. All processing happens locally, in your browser.

Local storage

To function, the extension keeps a small amount of data locally on your device, using your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local):

• a cache of the applicant-interest count it has already read for a job, so the badge can be shown again without re-reading it;
• a local count of how many job dates the extension has revealed, displayed in the popup;
• the lists you build yourself: the jobs the extension showed you, the jobs you saved and their application status, any private note you wrote, the employers you follow or blocked, your filter settings and your own prompts.

This data never leaves your device and is removed when you uninstall the extension. You can export it, or erase it, from the extension's own Account tab at any time.

Third parties

The extension contacts no external server, and never sends anyone anything about the jobs you look at.

If you choose to leave feedback or to complete the optional form shown on uninstall, opening and submitting that form is entirely voluntary; it includes only what you type, plus the extension's version number.

Permissions

• storage, to keep the local data described above.
• Access to *.indeed.com pages, to read the on-page job data, display the date and applicant badges, and add your own save, follow and block controls to job cards. The extension runs only on Indeed, and requests no other host.

Remote code

The extension loads no remote scripts. All logic and assets are bundled in the package.

Children's privacy

The extension is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect any data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
